Sai, Bhajan Bina Sukh Shanti Nahi

March 11, 2021

We are all living in Swami’s musical, singing and dancing to the expressions of the Lord. Even when we feel entangled in our worldly events, we shall never forget to enjoy the music playing around us.

For me, listening to the sounds of the universe is a strange passion. As the pitter-patter of raindrops hit the window, the rustling of trees brush against one another in a strong breeze, the declarations of car horns and engines reverberate in an urban landscape, each vibration inspires me to tune into myself (the microcosm) as a method for tuning into the universe (the macrocosm).

Blesséd are we, for we have Swami’s love to guide us on our path in the universe. Through discourse, bhajans, or simply through His radiation of love, we absorb the vibrations emanating from His teachings. I absorb these Godly vibrations through the entrancing and meditative sounds of bhajans. Brothers and sisters clapping and singing along, all in the name of the Lord, and internalizing the meaning of bhajans, create an inexplicable sense of joy. Swami says, “[w]hen all the participants in a bhajan sing in unison, what sacred vibrations are produced and what Divine energies are released! When these vibrations fill the world, what changes cannot they bring about! When one sings alone, the heart is merged in the song. But when many sing together, it acquires a Divine power.” (Sai Bhajana Mala, 30). This Divine power connects us through sound, for these are Swami’s sound, guiding me on my spiritual journey and establishing discipline in my life. I aspire to connect to Swami through each and every sound Swami blesses us with.

This center spotlight will highlight the YA specific activities conducted at centers across Region 5, including service projects, devotional programs, and more. If you would like to share a YA-led activity happening at your center, please email the Region 5 YA team.
